Leaking Clothes Washer?

If the seals are shot on my washer pump, will it leak when the washer is not running, or only when it is running?Leaking Clothes Washer?
The pumps will only leak under pressure when washing and disbursing the used water out of the drain hose. If the leak is continuing when washer is not in use then there is a bad hose connection or split hose is another problem.

The other is it could be the spindle seal of the agitator could also be worn out and this can be detected if there is any oil mixed in with the water on the floor.

If you cannot fix it yourself then get a repair person to fix the problem.Leaking Clothes Washer?
IF not hoses, it is cheaper to purchase a new machine than having one repaired...make sure the delivery company will haul off the old machine. good luck

  • Windshield washer cap?

The cap to my windshield washer on my vehicle snapped off. Will this harm my car?Windshield washer cap?
You will start getting some dirt in the fluid which, in time, might clog the system. Cover the opening with something, even saran wrap.Windshield washer cap?
Only if you lost the cap. If not simply put the cap back on and it will not harm anything

    Windshield Washer Pump not Working.?

My vehicle is having troubles with the windshield washer pump. When i pull the lever there is no pumping sound or water being sprayed onto the windshield, tho the wipers still work. I've already tested the wiring and all is fine. The problem appears to be either the pump itself or a free floating wire.

The unnconnected wire is apart of a set that goes into a plug beneath the washer reservoir. My guess is the wire came disconnected from the plug and requires reattchment. My problem is when i go to strip the wire sheeth expecting to see some silver or copper looking wire underneath, what i actually get is more white-green lithium-like paste within the wire. Ok wheres the actual wiring for me to connect back to the plug?

Perhaps this is normal and the wire does not require reattaching? In such a case I'd have to conclude the pump is to blame. Any ideas on how i can also test the pump and even replace it if necessary. It seems fixed to the reservoir somehow.

Take it to a mechanic or the dealership and have them either fix it or replace the pump. Better to have a professional do it and not have it screwed up.Windshield Washer Pump not Working.?
that wire to me sounds like the problem. The reason it has become disconnected is because it has corroded and turned to the paste. If need be pull the pump off and see if there is a wire missing.Chances are it is.and if it is check if the wire that is still conected is a positive or a negative. If its a posi then make a lead up to go to the plug to an earth to the chasis.

    95 civic washer fluid problem......?

When i hit the signal, there's no washer fluid, and also no noise at all. I've read others question about the problem and the problem seems to be a bad pump or fuse. Where do i find the pump? and which fuse is it? How would i know if a fuse is burned out?95 civic washer fluid problem......?
the pump to your washer will be underneath the bottle that you fill, the fuse will most probably be in the fuse box it should be marked on the lid of the fuse box,if it is not then you will have to pull each fuse in turn and have a look at each one ,the fuse as a metal strip running through the centre of it if it has blown then the strip will be broken replace that, that has blown.95 civic washer fluid problem......?
your fusebox should be under the hood. pop the lid off and look at the diagram it will show you. it should say WASHER OR WASH. pull the fuse out...if there is nothing in the middle of the 2 terminals, its blown. replace it with same size. most fuse boxes have spare fuses in them.

or it could be the pump but check fuse first. some times the pumps get gummed up with dirt. on some cars the pump is located on the resevoir.

I put my ipod through the washer. anyway it will still work? what can i do?

ipod touchI put my ipod through the washer. anyway it will still work? what can i do?
My brother did this and his I Pod never worked again. I guess it depends on what kind of luck u have.

My phone just went through the washer...?

Its a Motorola SmartPhone....someone told me to put it in the freezer....

Any sugestions? My phone just went through the washer...?
uhh..put it in riceMy phone just went through the washer...?
put it in the dryer, but not for too long. that happened to my sisters phone and it ended up being fine
leave in your back seat of your car for a few days in the hot sun. this should dry it out.
Do not put it in the freezer!

Put it in a ziploc bag of uncooked rice for a couple days, then leave it in the sun for a couple more days... That's really your only hope. Unless you feel comfortable taking it apart but be careful of the static.
immediately take the battery out. Let it sit for a few days, you can try using a hair dryer on it or putting it in a bag of uncooked rice, or if you have packets of silica gel (they come with new shoes and sometimes in vitamin bottles) or other desiccants, those work too.
Take the battery out, submerge it in a bowl of dry, regular, rice. Put it in a warm spot ( sunny window) for a couple of days. Make sure all the condensation is gone before you put the battery back in and turn it on.

Disk Washer Method Calc homework. Please help Im stuck?

Using the disk/washer method write the volume of the solid obtained by the region enclosed by y=x^(1/2), x=4 and y=0 about the y-axis as a definite integral. Do not evaluate the integral!!! Please helpDisk Washer Method Calc homework. Please help Im stuck?
Yeah, you could do it that way. But there's a much easier way.

It's known as the shell method, and by adding up an infinite number of shells made by this region... we can find the volume of the figure.

Imagine a shell, looks like a cylinder, but it's hollow. Think of what what would happen if you wanted to find the volume of that shell. You could cut it right down the middle and add up the volume of a rectangular prism: (Length)(Width)(Height/Thickness). The length is the circumference of the rotation, or 2蟺(r)... or what's on top - what's on bottom.

In this case, the function on top is x^(1/2), and that on bottom is 0. So, top - bottom is x^(1/2) - 0.

    Let's setup our integral

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(width)(height/thickness鈥?br>

Remember, the length is the circumference.

The width is the distance from the of rotation to the farthest point right. Well, in this case it would be 4, but it's necessary to call the out most part x. The width is always achieved by right - left. Or x - 0, remember the y axis is really x=0.

Substitute our width into the integral:

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(x-0)(height/thickness)

That leaves our height/thickness, and the only thing left is our dx... because we're adding up an infinite number of these shells. The one point represents each shell we add up. In addition, our bounds would be from x=0 to x=4... just like if you were to slice a cross section perpendicular to the x-axis.

    So...

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(x-0)dx from x=0 until x=4.

I know it's a little confusing, but if you need any more help please feel free to give me an IM or email at sparta308@yahoo.com.
