Leaking Clothes Washer?

If the seals are shot on my washer pump, will it leak when the washer is not running, or only when it is running?Leaking Clothes Washer?
The pumps will only leak under pressure when washing and disbursing the used water out of the drain hose. If the leak is continuing when washer is not in use then there is a bad hose connection or split hose is another problem.

The other is it could be the spindle seal of the agitator could also be worn out and this can be detected if there is any oil mixed in with the water on the floor.

If you cannot fix it yourself then get a repair person to fix the problem.Leaking Clothes Washer?
IF not hoses, it is cheaper to purchase a new machine than having one repaired...make sure the delivery company will haul off the old machine. good luck

    Windshield Washer Pump not Working.?

My vehicle is having troubles with the windshield washer pump. When i pull the lever there is no pumping sound or water being sprayed onto the windshield, tho the wipers still work. I've already tested the wiring and all is fine. The problem appears to be either the pump itself or a free floating wire.

The unnconnected wire is apart of a set that goes into a plug beneath the washer reservoir. My guess is the wire came disconnected from the plug and requires reattchment. My problem is when i go to strip the wire sheeth expecting to see some silver or copper looking wire underneath, what i actually get is more white-green lithium-like paste within the wire. Ok wheres the actual wiring for me to connect back to the plug?

Perhaps this is normal and the wire does not require reattaching? In such a case I'd have to conclude the pump is to blame. Any ideas on how i can also test the pump and even replace it if necessary. It seems fixed to the reservoir somehow.

    TxWindshield Washer Pump not Working.?
Take it to a mechanic or the dealership and have them either fix it or replace the pump. Better to have a professional do it and not have it screwed up.Windshield Washer Pump not Working.?
that wire to me sounds like the problem. The reason it has become disconnected is because it has corroded and turned to the paste. If need be pull the pump off and see if there is a wire missing.Chances are it is.and if it is check if the wire that is still conected is a positive or a negative. If its a posi then make a lead up to go to the plug to an earth to the chasis.

    95 civic washer fluid problem......?

When i hit the signal, there's no washer fluid, and also no noise at all. I've read others question about the problem and the problem seems to be a bad pump or fuse. Where do i find the pump? and which fuse is it? How would i know if a fuse is burned out?95 civic washer fluid problem......?
the pump to your washer will be underneath the bottle that you fill, the fuse will most probably be in the fuse box it should be marked on the lid of the fuse box,if it is not then you will have to pull each fuse in turn and have a look at each one ,the fuse as a metal strip running through the centre of it if it has blown then the strip will be broken replace that, that has blown.95 civic washer fluid problem......?
your fusebox should be under the hood. pop the lid off and look at the diagram it will show you. it should say WASHER OR WASH. pull the fuse out...if there is nothing in the middle of the 2 terminals, its blown. replace it with same size. most fuse boxes have spare fuses in them.

or it could be the pump but check fuse first. some times the pumps get gummed up with dirt. on some cars the pump is located on the resevoir.

My phone just went through the washer...?

Its a Motorola SmartPhone....someone told me to put it in the freezer....

Any sugestions? My phone just went through the washer...?
uhh..put it in riceMy phone just went through the washer...?
put it in the dryer, but not for too long. that happened to my sisters phone and it ended up being fine
leave in your back seat of your car for a few days in the hot sun. this should dry it out.
Do not put it in the freezer!

Put it in a ziploc bag of uncooked rice for a couple days, then leave it in the sun for a couple more days... That's really your only hope. Unless you feel comfortable taking it apart but be careful of the static.
immediately take the battery out. Let it sit for a few days, you can try using a hair dryer on it or putting it in a bag of uncooked rice, or if you have packets of silica gel (they come with new shoes and sometimes in vitamin bottles) or other desiccants, those work too.
Take the battery out, submerge it in a bowl of dry, regular, rice. Put it in a warm spot ( sunny window) for a couple of days. Make sure all the condensation is gone before you put the battery back in and turn it on.

Disk Washer Method Calc homework. Please help Im stuck?

Using the disk/washer method write the volume of the solid obtained by the region enclosed by y=x^(1/2), x=4 and y=0 about the y-axis as a definite integral. Do not evaluate the integral!!! Please helpDisk Washer Method Calc homework. Please help Im stuck?
Yeah, you could do it that way. But there's a much easier way.

It's known as the shell method, and by adding up an infinite number of shells made by this region... we can find the volume of the figure.

Imagine a shell, looks like a cylinder, but it's hollow. Think of what what would happen if you wanted to find the volume of that shell. You could cut it right down the middle and add up the volume of a rectangular prism: (Length)(Width)(Height/Thickness). The length is the circumference of the rotation, or 2蟺(r)... or what's on top - what's on bottom.

In this case, the function on top is x^(1/2), and that on bottom is 0. So, top - bottom is x^(1/2) - 0.

    Let's setup our integral

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(width)(height/thickness鈥?br>

Remember, the length is the circumference.

The width is the distance from the of rotation to the farthest point right. Well, in this case it would be 4, but it's necessary to call the out most part x. The width is always achieved by right - left. Or x - 0, remember the y axis is really x=0.

Substitute our width into the integral:

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(x-0)(height/thickness)

That leaves our height/thickness, and the only thing left is our dx... because we're adding up an infinite number of these shells. The one point represents each shell we add up. In addition, our bounds would be from x=0 to x=4... just like if you were to slice a cross section perpendicular to the x-axis.

    So...

    2蟺鈭?x^(1/2)-0)(x-0)dx from x=0 until x=4.

I know it's a little confusing, but if you need any more help please feel free to give me an IM or email at sparta308@yahoo.com.

Since you mentioned the chest congestion, were you on antibiotics before you noticed the difficulty swallowing? Sometimes, antibiotics will cause Candida esophagitis. If that's it, and you can't go to a gastroenterologist, try eating yogurt. There's other problems that make swallowing difficult, so it would really be best to see a gastroenterologist for a definite diagnosis and treatment.

My iPod nano 3rd gen. went through the washer...how long do i let it dry out?

will it work again...i can't believe i did that...it was in my pocket and i washed my pants...it had a case on tho, not a silicone case, but a leather one...do u think it may be okay (even if i plugged it into my computer)My iPod nano 3rd gen. went through the washer...how long do i let it dry out?
It's down to a few things, really. How long it was in the washer, how hot the wash was, how thick (and waterproof) the case was and quite a bit of luck.

It's usually a good bet to take it apart as much as you can, and let everything dry separately, as this makes it most likely that it'll survive. I'd leave it for about a week, though sometimes even longer is better.

If any of the circuits have shorted though, it might not work even when it is dry.

Hope it works! My iPod nano 3rd gen. went through the washer...how long do i let it dry out?
I just did the same thing to my I pod nano 3rd generation, just yesturday, completely through the wash and dryer. This is the key, let it dry in a dry warm place for a few days, with all luck it will work. The reason behind this is because technically the i pod is always on unless it is left idle for more than about 48 hours, this is because the clock keeps running. If you notice your i pod start up with the apple logo ever it is because it has been left off long enough to completely turn off and is now restarting. Because it is such a small decieve it is lucky to use 5 volts max and that is not near enough to fry it with water, furthermore i pods are built to take a little bit of distress and most likely the main boards are sealed and protected. If you can't get it to work by the button try plugging it into the computer that is what i did. Unfournatly your screen may never be the same and show signs of being wet or a little blury but it should work just fine! the only thing different you will notice is that the clock will have been reset.
omg! my friend did the same thing to her ipod!! so she left it on her heater for a week then it worked!! but the screens a bit funny, you have to look at it from a certain angle :P

just make sure you dry it out and it might just survive
    4 about 15 mins
put it in the sun wai a few days

Sent my ';LG Chocolate'; cell phone through the washer and dryer,?

I know, bone headed move but too late now to correct the mistake. Is there any hope for this phone at all or is it toast. I took it apart and everything is dry. I'm guessing a chip got fried or something. Anyone else ever save one after water exposure?Sent my ';LG Chocolate'; cell phone through the washer and dryer,?
Once in awhile you can get lucky. I seen a phone get washed and then work days later. I haven't seen one go through washer and dryer though. :(

If you have insurance then it will be covered. a $50 deductible will be all the will cost to replace the phone. If you don't have insurance then replacing it for the same phone will run you about 299.99 . If you don't have insurance I would browse ebay for a replacement if the 299.99 price for full retail is too steep.Sent my ';LG Chocolate'; cell phone through the washer and dryer,?
I dropped my 5300 in a drink and it dried out, but the screen was flawed. Also, what everyone else had said was dead wrong. If you have insurance, it does not cover water damage. Dry it out with a hairdryer, and you might have a chance but its unlikely.
Was unable to save the chocolate. And if you're moisture stickers are ruined, hope you got the insurance. Costs 50 to replace the phone but that's the only option.
Sounds like it is toast to me, insurance will proably not cover the replacement either. Mine didn't when it was dropped into the drainage ditch at work and got water logged.
Is it still work? I hope it wasn't on and then it would have been fried.. but maybe at the most to replace a piece or two..
Even if you can get the power on, the minerals in the water will render the keys useless in a short while. Expensive mistake, there.

Never good for smoke to be coming from a washer...; )...i would say that 1 of 2 things is happening...eithor your electric motor has gone bad and its getting hot enough to burn the windings inside....or 2...your gearbox is bad / seal in the gearbox is bad leaking oil onto something hot (maybe the motor) causing the smoke and clear liquid (oil) on the floor...touch the clear liquid and rub it between your fingers...if its slippery then its oil....Frigidaire washer make noise and smoke on spin cycle. clear liquid on floor not water?

    Smelly washer???

I dont know if anyone has had this happen before, but, I wash a load of laundry and then put it in the dryer...but when the clothes come out they have a bad smell! What would be causing this and how do I get rid of it?? Is it the washer? The dryer? They dont smell clean! I dont get it.Smelly washer???
I too would run a cycle with just vinegar or bleach and no clothes. Also, don't over load the washer or dryer with clothes. If your loads are too large the clothes will not swish and get clean in the wash. Then you put them in the dryer and they didn't get clean, that too would cause your clothes to not smell clean. On super dirty loads of wash, add some baking soda or Oxi-Clean to the water. That too will cut down on the smell and give your detergent a boost.Smelly washer???
Run an empty load with a cup of bleach only in the washer, set it for large/full load and hot water.

That should clean up the washer.

I'm not sure about the dryer, if thats where the odor is, you may need a pro if its gas, and your clothes smell like gas, or , if its electric and smells burnt, then you may have something on the heating element. If it neither smells like burn or gas then try a fabric softener sheet in the dryer and see if that helps.
I don't know what it is but if it is the washer I hear you are suppose to do a cycle with no cloths and put lemon juice in it....I never done it before but I hear it works!!
i have the same problem.this is the first front load washer i have had in 35 years.if i only could have my old one back! i use everything.sometimes vinegar, boraxo, soda, bleach and amonia.it's really the pits!!! my daughter just got the red LG set from lowes in April for $2,000 and has the same problem.leaving the door ajar doesn't do any good.
When washing your clothes add 1 cup of plain white vinegar in with the soap, and leave the lid open when you take the clothes out. so moisture doesn't start to make it smelly.
I would try running it empty with baking soda in the water. That usually gets rid of evil smells.

333..Good Idea ...I had one of those ';belts'; one time ..but it made me itch when I shook. You could put a cushion on the washer %26amp; it would be a vibrating ';Lazy Boy'; chair! (or ';Lazy Girl'; chair in our cases! lol)
quick!!!...go fetch either a medium or a priest , lol
Feed it your laundry. It's telling you it's hungry.

You know what they say about shaking washing machines dont you......LOL you sit on them....sorry couldnt resist, they were talking about that on the moring show a couple of days ago....People put their washing machines on spin cycle to sit on them......Everytime i go past your question i cannt help think that, and what they were saying about it on tv.....lol
its a ghost washing their white load
It is my opinion that is is not paranormal. Most likely you have air in your water lines causing a pressure buildup. Cut it on like you are going to wash a load of clothes and see if that won't fix your problem.
someone who used to live in your house killed your washing machine and now its back to haunt you

    lol jks

sometimes water clogs up and like releases which causees it to shake, or theres an electric problem

    dont worry about it :)
    Run Away
Bang on it and see if it shakes more, there might be something that crawled inside, if not then you should unplug it asap and take a look at it, because something can be wrong with the electricity and you dont want anything to happen.

    Maytag washer - pump?

Does anyone have any information on how to replace a pump on a Maytag washing machine (model SAV4655EWW). This is the second time in a year (machine's only 2.5 years old) that I have to replace the pump and I refuse to call the lonely repair guy again - he can't come out for a week anyway (not so lonely is he - busy replacing Maytag pumps probably) Any help would be appreciated.Maytag washer - pump?
I believe the model you are referring to has a removable panel in the front, 2 hex head screws remove the panel. The pump should be on the bottom of the motor. Not hardly as easy to change as a light bulb but can be done by do-it -your-selfer with some mechanical skills. Have to remove three screws from pump from bottom (which is the hard part) and pull off motor. Reverse procedure to install new pump. Make sure pump isn't clogged before replacing or other similar problem.Maytag washer - pump?
Its almost as easy as replacing a light bulb. You ll need to access the part of the washer were the pump is,usually at the bottom, remove belt, unclamp the hoses to the pump, remove the screws holding the pump and remove pump, installation is the reverse and voila! Second time huh? Sometimes they get clogged with to much lint or pet hair so that's why they stop working! Well maybe not as easy as replacing a light bulb but its not hard at all!
Before attempting a repair make sure you turn off the power The pump will have two electrical connections, check that are still connected, they have been known to vibrate off.

  • How can i change the cranking rope in a honda gas pressure washer 13.0 ?

If you can still get to the rope good take the pull off the motor pull the rope out carefully not to let the coil spring fly out (it not easy to do)attach the new rope were you dug out the knot and rap it around sick through the pull hole and add the handle. good luck ..................

If the rope broke you have to do the same as above but re coil up the coil spring the attach the new rope and rap it around sick through the pull hole and add the handle. How can i change the cranking rope in a honda gas pressure washer 13.0 ?
This might be long winded, but hang in there.

Remove the recoil housing and be very careful not to remove the recoil pulley wheel, you won't have to do this at all. Purchase a sever foot piece of recoil rope which you can obtain from pretty much any hardware store, but take your old rope with you for size.

NOTE: Use a recommended recoil rope, not just any nylon that you think might work.

After you get your recoil removed, lay it out flat on a table, and remove the old rope, now take your new rope, and using your index finger, wrap the rope two times and tie it into a knot, a really tight knot, leaving a small little tip sticking out, now the next part you are going to have to be very careful not to get burnt, take a lighter and burn the end of the rope until it starts to melt, and then push it flat either using the concrete floor or on the work bench.

On the other end of the rope, melt the other side of the rope and using a shop rag, rap the rag and pull straight out, this will make the end of the rope stiff which you are going to need.

Take the recoil, if this has the knot stop on the bottom of the pulley, you really need to pay close attention to how you remove the pulley, leave it flat on the table and remove the lock bolt, and it will pull up rather easy, but when doing so make sure to try to keep the spring in place, in most cases it will stay, but remove the pulley and run the pointed end of the rope through the pulley, so that the knot is in the area it should be. Replace the pulley, and whined the recoil, until the spring is tight and you cannot go anymore, then go a 1/4 turn back, and run your rope through the hole, and let the recoil wrap the rope for you. tie a slip knot, install your pull handle and you are all set.

If your knot stop is on top of the recoil you will not have to remove the pulley at all just wrap it like I told you in the end.

    Good Luck!
