What causes lint in the washer?

We moved into a new house and our clothes out of maytag washer have lint on them and the dryer screen is full of lintWhat causes lint in the washer?

usually new clothes like shirts or any clothing having clingy fibers that come off in the washer. we have the same problem with our washer and i think its a maytag where the ring around the washer had lint and dust particles. just like when u get lint from dryer. just particles u don't see that come off your clothes. i usually clean the top of the washer with windex and paper towel
You now own a better washer and dryer than before. This is a normal occurrence with a more powerful machine. Just make sure you remove the lint from both machines after every load.
