Is there such a thing as brakeshoes on a washer?

live and learnIs there such a thing as brakeshoes on a washer?
Not to the best of my knowledge, there isn't. Just belts and pulleys and the motor and it's controls. but I haven't worked on a washer for twenty years and they may have changed, though I doubt it. Sounds as though maybe you need to find another repairman.
